Fundraiser for J-hope’s Birthday: Discover #WhatHOPECanDo by Organizing Dance Programs and Events for Children and Young Adults

For our first birthday celebration this year, which is our dear Hobi’s birthday, ARMY wanted to support organizations related to music and dance. So One In An ARMY presents #WhatHOPECanDo, a flash fundraiser for The What Dance Can Do Project!

About What Dance Can Do

Since 2018, What Dance Can Do has been organizing dance programs and events for children and young adults who are in a vulnerable place because of illness, poverty, exile, and/or with no easy access to this art. The organization also advocates dance as a spark for change. What Dance Can Do believes that dance programs are not a cost, but rather, an investment in the future of individuals, communities, and society as a whole. To access beneficiaries, the organization partners with hospitals, schools, and local NPOs in various countries such as France, Morocco, New Zealand, Kenya, Switzerland, and Tunisia.

What Dance Can Do intends to show how dance is being used as an agent of change to heal, lift up, bridge gaps, and give means of expression and a voice to those who might not otherwise have one. Some of the activities the organization has conducted are dance summer camps in Kenya for both young students and local dance instructors, dance cultural events for children who are facing illnesses, and classes and workshops for a group of children. What Dance Can Do also had photography and text-based exhibition and gala events to introduce their organization and programs for their beneficiaries.

How to Contribute to the Campaign

Through our birthday flash fundraiser for dance king Jung Hoseok, ARMY can help What Dance Can Do in constructing a dance studio, providing daily creative dance lessons for children and young adults, and dance shows for children in hospitals.
