Birthday Flash Fundraiser for Park Jimin: #ReachOutWithJimin and Assist Victims of Human Exploitation and Sexual Exploitation in Romania

For our dear Jiminie’s birthday this year, ARMY wished to support an organization that caters to anti-violence, abuse, and trafficking. One In An ARMY invites you to #ReachOutWithJimin and support Reaching Out Romania, an organization that serves enslaved and abused victims of human trafficking.

About Reaching Out Romania

Reaching Out Romania has assisted and worked with more than 750 victims of human trafficking since 1998. Victims are referred to the organization by the police, Romania’s Child Protection Department, and non-government organizations. Reaching Out Romania offered these victims home and psychological, medical, and legal assistance. The organization shaped its activities around the needs of the victims and provided them with long-term assistance as well. On average, the victims spend one year in their shelter.

Since 2007, most of the victims sheltered at Reaching Out Romania are minors who needed care, with 14 as the victims’ average age. This made the organization further realize that building a future for the victims of trafficking required them to get involved in efforts to change legislation and mentalities. Reaching Out Romania spearheaded initiatives to ignite cross-border cooperation for fighting trafficking and trained law enforcement to better respond to the victim’s needs. The organization helped many to initiate or continue their studies, seek jobs, or do whatever it took for them to rebuild their lives.
